Hey! A comic? Wow. 2010 is FULL of surprises!

A bit unusual for me as I’m not very political and I tend not to be this callous on purpose. The loss of Jackson and Fawcett is tragic to be sure. It’s just that I had heard someone comment that those deaths really brought to light how fragile life is, and it was clear that that person didn’t have any idea what was going on in Iran with all the protests, even with the coverage of YouTube and Twitter bringing it to anyone with a connected computer.

This came from an recent incident where the Webcomic plugin had some unexpected problems that broke my site when I did the automatic upgrade. I tend to push ahead on things without doing my due dilegence and checking to see if any problems are associated with updating plugins, especially ones that are still in development. TheJoe is especially aware of this and runs his site with as few plugins as possible. I tend to go overboard with the add-ons and have tried to reign that behavior in with this site. I think I only have three or four plugins running at the moment.
I must add that I have found that Michael Sisk, the developer of Webcomic is very tuned in to the community that uses it and is very quick to address problems that arise. He responds to queries in the forums and promptly issues fixes very rapidly. I recommend Webcomic highly to anyone looking to start a webcomic.

Yup. The film was a little less than engaging and this is what my mind wandered to. Ah ah ah ah (thunder and lightning)…

Personally, I like to use Ventrillo while I play, but sometimes the typing in that little corner of my screen yields wome really weird stuff. I think a lot of other people would like to see this acheivement implemented too.

Yeah, it’s a bit of an obvious joke, but these guys were pretty fun to construct.

With all the industry noise about piracy, I would think a scene like this would actually become common. Which would either make me psychic or unimaginative. Maybe I should invest in a crystal ball…

I just find it interesting that these characters are on such opposite sides of the art vs. commerce scale, yet have such similar characters. I also realize that it’s a few number of people that know who both of these characters are. The joke’s funny to me, so that’s why I made it. So there.

So after a few false starts, we finally have the return of Note To Self. Triumphant return? Time will tell.
This is a continuation of the discussion of the two characters who were discussing virtual machines versus dual booting before. This conversation, however, was NOT based on anything TheJoe and I ever talked about. So I guess we’ve found the level of my humor. Or at least the level of tech humor I can aspire to.
